Mother Nature's Artistry

This is a new feature I'll try to do on the last day of every month.  I call it Mother Nature's Artistry and it will be a photo of something unique or impressive or fascinating about the natural plant world.  Here's the first one:

This is a photo of a sunflower head with the seeds in the developing stage. I love the symmetry!

I would have thought this was an unopened neoregelia flower head! This would make an excellent pattern for a blog background... I want to see more like this and can't wait for the next one!

They look like some sort of palm seeds.

I think this belongs in a frame. I too love the details on all my flowers...sunflowers being one of my favorites! I have to admit I couldn't place it at first, though.

I was about to say it looked like a sunflower head too but I am not familiar with tropical plants. Looking forward to the answer.

That's a great idea. I love photos that I am not sure quite what it is! Garden art is interesting! Great blog.
